I'll Be Back Soon!

Just popping in to say I am incredibly sorry for not posting  recently, but I will be on a super short break until May 3rd or so due to a super busy schedule, and, also, April is nearly over, which means Camp NaNoWriMo is nearly over.

Just yesterday, I think it was, I hit my word goal of 50k, but the story itself isn't finished, so I'd really like to see how much I can get done of it before the end of this month. So wish me luck?

And, to hold you over until I'm back, just know that I have some really truly exciting things going on to make Defying Impossible bigger and better and branching out in multiple different ways, but I will talk more on this--you guessed it--when I'm back in May!

But one of the many things headed your awesome direction is a Book Haul Post where I will be talking about all of the beautiful books I got for my birthday this April. Look forward to it!

For now, don't forget to follow me on ALL OF THE PLACES to keep up to date with what I'm obsessing over and what's new around the Book and Writing community, where I always Share/Reblog/Retweet/ect all useful information on new releases and such that I find.

I'll leave the links down below, and feel free to stalk me there!

What have you all been up to? Get any writing done lately?

Top Three Thursday: Favorite TV Shows!

Uhm, okay, geez, this post is quite a bit behind because I got home incredibly late.

But like we found a lost puppy, so that's like the best excuse ever, right?

Anyway:

Looking for some awesome new TV Shows to get addicted to?

This is the post for you!

I'm going to list my Top Three favorite obsessions that show on the Television, 1st being my absolute favorite.

Let's get to it!:

1.Favorite TV Show Number One: Teen Wolf

Yes yes yes I know don't hate me!

Some people absolutely hate this show or absolutely love it and I, obviously, am one of the latter.

This is my own little show that I consider a bit of a guilty pleasure--it makes me laugh and makes me cry and I adore the characters like nobodies business. I just finished Part One of Season Three, and I'm dying for Part Two!

I highly recommend this show if you like cute, funny TV Shows. Once you get past the first few episodes, you won't be able to stop. I couldn't, anyway, though I didn't want to.

2.Favorite TV Show Number Two: Sherlock

              Of course!

Sherlock is just almost even with Teen Wolf, because I love it with that much of a burning passion.

I adore Sherlock Holmes, and this show is like a dream come true for me. I love absolutely everything about it, basically.

GO WATCH IT NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T.

3.Favorite TV Show Number Three: Supernatural

This was a really hard one.

I have so many other's but Supernatural just has to take the spot of Number Three.

I'm not a big fan of creepy stuff--like AT ALL--but with the support of my mom and my sister, and watching the super creepy ones in the daytime, I fell swiftly in love with the characters and the idea of the stories in each season. I find my similarities to Dean a little ridiculous, but I'm proud of it, okay?

And so there are my top three.

Already seen these, or they don't sound interesting?

Fine, I shall make a list below of my other obsessions, because I have a TON:

  • Doctor Who (Like who isn't?)
  • Psych (This is a really hilarious show that I lovez!)
  • Merlin (Ah, Merlin! I miss this show.)
  • SmallVille (Haven't finished all of the Seasons, but I love it!)
  • My Little Pony (Don't judge okay it's rude.)
  • Shugo Chara (Some epic Anime Show you've probably never ever heard of.)
  • Clannad (Another one of those Anime Show's you've never heard of. Fetch the tissues, for this one.)
  • Robin Hood (Gah, I loved this show!)
  • Once Upon a Time (I've recently fallen behind, but I hope to catch back up soon!)

And I know there must be more, but this is all I can think of at the moment!

Have you watched any of these shows? Oh my gosh let's totally jump up and down in the Comments!

Quick Camp NaNoWriMo Update!: I've decided what I'm going to write a day late, but still plenty of time, right?

I'm so excited to dive in deep with this book!

How are you doing so far?

Thanks for reading, and have a great Thursday!

Novel Finishing and Lots of Caffeine

So I need to tell you guys about my night.

At twelve at night, some people are asleep, some people are peacefully reading a good book, some people are out partying with friends.

I, on the other hand, was blaring music through my headphones last night, pounding away at the keys of my laptop, nearing the end of my Novel.

Now this is the third and final installment of the Dragon Master Trilogy, titled FORSAKEN. This is the book that I talk about HERE, in the context of not wanting to finish it in fear of not having anything to write after I type THE END.

So, anyway, moving on with my night. This was just the beginning.

What do you suppose people are doing at three in the morning? Probably sleeping or, if you're more like my kind of person, still having a marathon your favorite TV Series on Netflix or wasting time on Tumblr.

This is all great, but at this time, I was STILL numbing my ears with my Writerly music, making myself vibrate by the words that were flowing from my fingers.

Now--What do normal people do at SEVEN in the morning? Sleeping still? Out and about their day?

I kept glanced at my window, watching the sun rise into the sky, but I didn't stop. I couldn't stop.

I couldn't. Stop. Writing.

And so, at long last when the clock struck exactly 9:48, I typed THE END on my Novel, thus ending the epic story of my Soulyer and Bair.

It was heartbreaking and exciting and overwhelming and I got up and danced around the house a little before getting a few hours of sleep before the rest of the day.

It ended with:

127,433 words

346 pages

100,000,000,000 tears

(No, I'm not kidding about the tears.)

I cried and I laughed and I ran in circles a bit, and I'm still vibrating.

And, the best part:

I'm not afraid anymore.

I always knew once I got it over with I wouldn't be afraid of what happened after I finished it. I now have a semi-thought out story for Camp NaNoWriMo this April, and I'm excited to write about it! (More on this in a later post!)

So I'm very sad to say goodbye to my lovely little characters, but I know that this won't be the last time I see them. There are at least three other short stories/spin-off Novels I'm planning on writing set in their world, and I can rest peacefully knowing that I will see them again!

Have you ever finished a novel? Can you relate to this feeling?

So now I'm terribly sleepy and smiling like mad, and I'm going to go dance a little more.

Thanks for reading!

The Future/Let the Storm Break Awesomeness!

I've been learning a lot recently about how to let the future do it's own thing.

Honestly, I'm still struggling with this, but it's a lesson I am happy to learn.

A lot of questions are clouding around my mind, and they all have one thing in common:

The future.

MY future.

It's all about publishing and writing and smart choices and right choices and basically it's all just a jumbled mess I've been trying to sort through, but I simply can't.

And I've found that, though there are things  I can do to improve my future, and I can try as hard as I can to change my future, but, in the end, it's not up to me. Whatever happens will happen, and I just have to trust it and let go.

And this is a difficult thing for me. I've never been one to be a 'control-freak', but when it comes to my writing, which I am very protective and passionate about, I take things very seriously and honestly, and I'd prefer to be completely in control and calm about things.

But, if I wanted calm, being a writer is the wrong thing to be.

So this is my first lesson in keeping my head above the water of troubles, and not letting panic or fear or uncertainty influence me.

I'll figure it out in the end, and I still have plenty of time, so for now I'm just letting go and letting God, and trusting him to carry my through this.

Is there anything you're worried about? What makes you feel stress-free?

ALSO:
I have bunches of exciting LET THE STORM BREAK stuff going on!

"A Super-Short Review by Defying Impossible:

Ohhh, wow.

Where oh where to begin?

I've read some reviews saying this book was a total disappointment, highly depressing, anti-climactic, ect. And then I've read OTHER reviews that say this book is everything they wanted to be and more, was exciting and interesting, was swoon-worthy and perfect.

And I most certainly agree with the second reviewers.

In this book we, again, have both Vane and Audra's POV, and for some reason with this book I really noticed how different the characters voices were, and absolutely loved how they were so unique.

We met many new wonderful characters in this book, and some wonderfully evil, but I still loved them all, and I can't wait to learn more, more, more.

Vane is his usual snarky self, but he surprised me many, many times in this book, and, well... I'm so proud of my little Vane! <3

Audra... I have to admit, until, like, halfway through, I was really ticked off at her. I was angry at her for everything that she did, because I saw how much she was causing Vane to hurt, and that was just really not okay with me. BUT, just as I knew she would, she eventually came around and was better than ever.

Their relationship is brilliantly beautiful, and my only complaint was that they didn't get enough time together in this book (Even though they really did, but it's never enough really.).

I really loved Gus. I could relate to him many times, and I think he's a wonderful addition to this quirky little cast of characters.

The plot was... Very different. GOOD different, of course, but there were MANY twists that I WAS NOT expecting. All through the beginning, the middle, the end--it was all shocking and I finished this book not wanting it to end.

We learn much more about the wind (Which is TOTALLY fascinating!), the people, the story, and it all just gets so intense and great.

I can't imagine what wonderfulness we will find in the next book, but I CAN'T WAIT.

I have a deep rooted respect and love for Shannon Messenger and her books, and she most certainly didn't disappoint in LET THE STORM BREAK, but I already knew that.

I am positively DYING for the next book--especially after that ending! OMG. NO. WHOA. OMG."

Shannon Messenger Appreciation Post!

Today I'm writing a quick post in honor of Shannon Messengers 'Let the Storm Break' which comes out TODAY!!!

That's right! Finally the wonderfully wonderful Book Two is being released, and I'm dying to have it in my hands!

But this post isn't JUST about her new release, but also about HER.

Never heard of Shannon Messenger? You can check out her quirky little Blog HERE to get to learn more about her if you're interested (Which you should be.)!

Shannon Messenger is Author of MG (Middle Grade) series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and her YA (Young Adult) series, Let the Sky Fall.

Both are absolutely fantastic in their own ways. It was really interesting to read Shannon's KEEPER books, which are full of Elves and magic and friendship, then read her LtSF books and see her try her hand at more mature themes. She succeeded in both age levels, and that's a hard thing to do!

Want to know more? Of course!:

"Vane Weston should have died in the category-five tornado that killed his parents. Instead, he woke up in a pile of rubble with no memories of his past - except one: a beautiful, dark-haired girl standing in the winds. She swept through his dreams ever since, and he clings to the hope that she's real.

Audra is real, but she isn't human. She's a sylph, an air elemental who can walk on the wind, translate its alluring songs, even twist it into a weapon. She's also a guardian - Vane's guardian - and has sworn an oath to protect him at all costs.
When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both their families, Audra has just days to help Vane unlock his memories. And as the storm winds gather, Audra and Vane start to realize that the greatest danger might not be the warriors coming to destroy them, but the forbidden romance growing between them."

Doesn't it sound fabulous?! It's a book about a whirlwind romance that will sweep you off your feet! (Wind puns... HEH.)

Are you more into Middle Grade books? More into fun fantasies? KEEPER might be more for you!:

"Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster has a secret. She’s a Telepath—someone who hears the thoughts of everyone around her. It’s a talent she’s never known how to explain.

Everything changes the day she meets Fitz, a mysterious boy who appears out of nowhere and also reads minds. She discovers there’s a place she does belong, and that staying with her family will place her in grave danger. In the blink of an eye, Sophie is forced to leave behind everything and start a new life in a place that is vastly different from anything she has ever known. In this page-turning debut, Shannon Messenger creates a riveting story where one girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world, before the wrong person finds the answer first."

They both are brilliant books written by a brilliant person. And, yes friends, Let the Storms Break is coming out today and right now you should go to your local bookstore and buy it. Don't live near a bookstore? No fear, you can buy it HERE, or any of your other favorite Bookstore sites.

And, lastly, you want to read these books not only  because they are beautiful, but also because the person who wrote them is the sweetest, quirkiest, most awesome writer ever.

This is me and Shannon Messenger--Yes, I DID cosplay
as a Keefe Generbend.
I got to meet Shannon Messenger in person, as you may already know, and she is even cooler in person. She asked me about my books and my art and I demanded that she write a Keefe spin-off series (Come on, I'm not the ONLY one who wants that, am I?), and it was just a really good time. I got all of my books signed and I got to hug her, and though I was really awkward and nervous the whole time, she talked to be easily and made me feel a bit better.

Safe to say, she's amazing, so I decided to make this post full of Shameless-Favorite-Author-Promoting, because it's totally normal, right?

I can't wait to get my copy of Let the Storms Break! Can you?

Also, don't forget to check out Shannon's new Giveaway going on over at her blog HERE celebrating the new book release! Yes, that's right, you can enter to win a copy of Let the Storm Break AND Let the Sky Fall, with super extra special artwork drawn by none other than herself on the covers! Don't believe me? Follow the link to see the pictures!

Who is YOUR favorite author? Have you ever read Keeper of the Lost Cities or Let the Sky Fall?

Thank you for reading, and don't forget to purchase your very own copy of Let the Storms Break!

My Grandparents Are Moving!

The title says it all!

My two wonderful Grandparents are finally moving just down the road from us after years of living hours and hours away!

So, as you can guess, it's all hands on deck, and considering there is no internet at their new house yet, my Defying Impossible schedule will have to resume sometime next week.

(Even now I'm writing this on my phone, so please forgive any mistakes you may find!)

But while I'm away, now is the time to explore my tags over to the right and check out my past blog posts! Who knows, You might just learn something new.

I wish you all a wonderful week!

ATTENTION THIS IS IMPORTANT...Sort Of...

Stop what you're doing...

This is shocking news that will likely knock you off your feet...

I have just purchased...

A calender.

*Extremely shocked gasps*

And with this calender I will be scheduling more constant blog posts, planning my side activities that I've been putting of for months, and marking off the days as I go along.

*Someone faints*

Yes, this new calender is kitten themed.

*Crowd goes 'Awww!'*

For those of you who don't know--I never even know what day of the week it is. I don't 'plan' or 'schedule', though oddly enough I am a very neat and organized person. I just go on whims all of the time, and that was fine, but recently I've found that if I don't set myself down with a strict schedule, I'll never have the discipline it takes to do it on my own.

I'll be doing my best to stick to this calender. I'm actually very excited to see how it works out!

Google Search Can Only Answer So Many Things...

Personally, I am a huge fan of Google Search. As a writer, there are many things we need to research, and Google always had the answer. Like how quickly do you die after being shot in the heart? What are the different kinds of Puffer Fish? Is honey used to heal wounds?

But there comes a point when Google Search runs out of answers. When you are left to decide things for yourself.

I am facing one of those times.

You may have heard me complain about it before (A LOT), but I always said "oh I'll figure it out later", because that's the way things work for me. If I just let something be, chances are the question will be answered without effort.

But, this time, that doesn't seem to be the case.

My dilemma is, of course, which of my books I am going to publish first.

This isn't necessarily an immediate problem, considering publishing comes later after I turn sixteen but... I can't pretend I don't need to know now. Not only so that I can have a clear head about things, but also so that I know which book to pour my blood, sweat, and tears into first.

Option number one is my ATREA books. They were the first books I ever wrote when I was, like, eight, and since then I've started re-writing the first one considering, well, I hardly even knew how to spell correctly when I was eight.

I love my ATREA books with all my heart. They got me started in writing, and I had the most fun in the world with my characters there.

But option number two would be the Dragon Master books, and I am currently working on editing the first one, while also almost finished writing the third and final book.

These books are, obviously, better written because I started them a year or two ago. It's easy for me to tell myself I like these more then ATREA, but only because it's currently what I'm involved in, and I haven't visited ATREA since I had to stop re-writes this November.

So, it's obvious which one is the easier option--but is that the right option?

Am I meant to continue on the path of making my Dragon Master books more readable? Or should I dig deep and get to work on ATREA, that I may be proud of them, as well?

This question hasn't let me be for months now, and though I don't have to decide now, I'm on this constant circle of thoughts over and over again, and an answer doesn't seem to be in sight.

The problem is; this is one of those situations that, honestly, no one can help me in. It needs to be my decision--what I feel is right. I'm a very indecisive person, so this is horrible for me, but I am determined to keep praying and keep thinking, and I hope in the end I'll make the perfect decision!

Here's to hoping!

Do you have any tough decisions to make in your writing?

Falling in Love With Your Stories: My Adventure of Procrastination

So I talked about Writers Block a few days ago, with the promise to myself that I would get over this sluggish writing and get back to it!

And, I am glad to say, that I have indeed been writing, though, this time regretfully to say, it is not really any easier.

After my long break during this winter, I made myself start writing knowing that I would snap and get back to it like I always do after writing those first few words after a writing slump, but this time that didn't happen. It still hasn't.

And I think I've figured out why.

So this book that I'm currently writing is the third and final book in my Dragon Master Trilogy, and I started it back in November for NaNoWriMo, with the word count far past the goal of 50k words.

Currently, this book has 85k words, and 230 pages, and I have only just started writing the ending--which I pretty much consider everything after the halfway point.

This is the longest book I've ever written, the first two in the trilogy ranging from 60k words to 65k.

But none of this is the problem. The problem is that I think I'm afraid to finish it, stalling for as long as I can before having to type The End.

One reason for this is because I absolutely adore these books and these characters, and I hate to wrap up their story--but I've done this before, and I've gotten over this before, so saying goodbye for now isn't why I'm procrastinating so hard.

I think the actual reason is the fear of what happened last time I finished one of my series.

The first set of books I ever wrote was titled ATREA, with five 50k word books. Soon after I typed The End on that one, I started a SECOND series to ATREA, with five more books and 50k more words each, of the next generation of the characters in the first.

But, after I typed The End on the second series, I sort of stopped and stared off for a minute...

...What was I supposed to write, now?

I was convinced that was it. I would never write another world that I love as much as Atrea, and never create wonderful characters like them and I could never think of another good plot. I mean, how could I? Atrea was and is my life--how could I replace it with something equally as good, let alone better?

I tried for many months. I would get half formed ideas and desperately try to make a plot out of it, a character--something! I had nothing to write, and I felt like I would never do anything great with words ever again.

And then the Dragon Master Trilogy hit my like a sack of bricks, and into another world I fell, writing and writing for nearly two years until my fingers hurt and my brain melted.

And now, for the first time in those two years, I've nearly stopped writing the Dragon Master Trilogy. I've slowed down.

Because I fear what comes after I type The End.

Can I really think of something else to fall in love with, as I did with ATREA and the Dragon Master Trilogy? Of course I can. I've done it before, right?

But then I remember all of the months of lamenting over ideas, waiting for 'The One' idea.

'The One' idea meaning the one book that I will write and love. The one idea out of all of the little scattered thoughts that will fully form and drag me along. The one perfect spark of imagination that will create my next favorite character or my next devastating plot twist.

I like to look at it in the form of falling in love with someone:

"How do you know he/she is the one?"

You just do. It's this gut instinct that tells you this is right. It makes you happy and makes you excited and, basically, just makes you fall in love.

So I'm having a hard time writing the ending of the third and final book, because I know after this I will have to think of something else entirely to carry me throughout the next however many years.

Don't get me wrong--I have tons of ideas I've been dying to write--but that's just it. They all simply feel like 'ideas' and nothing more. No big OMG I HAVE TO WRITE THIS NOW nor any THIS IS BRILLIANT I'M DYING ideas.

No stories to make me fall in love.

So I am very torn about my feelings, because I am so excited for this ending, but I'm also so crushed to have to say goodbye again to the story I love. Thought there will be rewrites and editing and revising and such, there's nothing quite like writing a first draft for the very first time, and if I could go back in time and write my stories for the first time again, figuring out the plot holes and gasping when something I didn't expect happens and crying when someone died, I would in a heart beat.

Creating things is beautiful to me, and it breaks my heart when I can't think of anything to create.

An advice/opinions on this subject? Have you ever had trouble typing The End on a book? What's your favorite way to come up with ideas that make you fall in love?

I'm going to attempt to get some more work done on the third book, so wish me luck!

The Truth of Writers Block

I'll just say it.

Writers Block doesn't exist. It's not real.

It's something we, as authors, tell ourselves is real so that we have an excuse not to write something.

There IS a form of Writers Block that is real, but it should under no circumstance go as that title.

If it's under that title, you think you are blocked. You can't write anything, you can't brainstorm, and your creative flow is blocked by... What?

The need for a break. 'Writers Block' often comes after you plot a ton or you write for however many hours straight, or are surrounded by your own words for days/weeks on end. Another time it comes is if you've taken a short break, such as a vacation, or a busy schedule, ect, and in turn it makes it incredibly hard to get back into the groove of writing.

I am experiencing the second, which is perhaps why my words sound so bitter.

I know it is not Writers Block I am going through, because that is just an old fairy tale that is more myth than fact, but I AM going through "Writers Rehabilitation". I am on the way to getting back to normal, to falling in love with my stories again, embracing the beautiful flow of writing.

As hard as it is to believe, I'm sure I'm not the only one who understands that sometimes, whether there's a tangible cause or not, writers just get distracted from their writing. While their characters ride back seat, they are patiently waiting for the day--after days or months or years of distractions--for you to pick up the pencil/keyboard again and continue their wonderful lives full of adventure and challenges.

I think these breaks are healthy, to a point. I know that what I have done--gone without writing for over three months--is one of the unhealthy cases. And, of course, my reason for this was editing AWAKEN in order to get it pretty enough for a printed copy for my personal use.

I think a few days off of writing is a good idea, here and there, but the longer you wait to get back into your stories, the harder it's going to be. So, as you can well imagine, right now it's most certainly a struggle to return to the natural order of things.

I once read somewhere, in response to a person saying they haven't written in a few months, that they 'may not be a real writer, then.'. Like not writing for months or even years strips you of your 'writer' title?

Writing is not the act of one person putting words on paper. Writing is the act of one person seeing the world in a way that makes you capable of sharing that view of the world through, not just ink on paper, but any form of words. Writing, to me, is not a hobby or a career or a past-time--it is a mindset.

Writing is a personality trait.

So my break is officially over. I need to find the proper balance between things, and while I'm still trying to figure that out correctly, I can say I will be making an effort to keep more constant posts up here, while also juggling other life priorities.

Defying Impossible is like my own child, and I hate to leave it empty for so long at a time.

Do you have any theories about Writers Block? What is one of your favorite ways to get out of a writing break?

Happy 2014!

I'm back!

Did you miss me terribly?

I'm sure you did--what are you talking about?

So, last you heard of me I was taking a break from anything and everything to enjoy the Holiday's, including Blogging, Journaling, all things that stressed me out and, most importantly, Editing.

I followed all of these rules I set for myself. Except for one.

I did indeed edit, despite everything I promised myself. I kept thinking 'it's okay, I don't have to do this. There's always next year. I'll just relax this month!" and I'd go to open up one of my documents that I actually enjoy writing in, but I literally couldn't type a single word because I knew I could be editing.

The deadline to have the edited book submitted was, oh yeah, yesterday at midnight, having given me only a month to edit it, and... I did it!

Without even an hour to spare, I got it sent and finished, and even though this whole month was a blur of repeating words and thesaurus.com and rereading and reading out loud and late nights and tons of coffee and caffiene... I learned many things.

First thing I learned is that there should indeed be a balance between words and real life. Not to say they should be separated, but I just realized through this hectic month that I need to take care of myself properly, no matter when the deadline is. I lost a lot of sleep and kept having these panic fits anytime I counted and said 'Oh my gods, only ten days left!', and 'By the Angel! Five days left I can't finish it on time there's no way I can't breath I fail I-'

...But I did it.

With the help of my wonderful Mum and Sister, it's sent and over with, and I feel accomplished.

Second thing I learn is that, though I am clearly bad at following the orders I set for myself, I proved to myself that I could do anything if I put my mind to it.

Now I'll throw myself onto the couch and stay there for a few years or so.

But--yes, I forgot one thing...

HAPPY 2014 PEOPLE!

Another year, full of more opportunities and words and wonderful experiences and excitement and new things.

My goal is to move forwards this year. I won't step backwards--I won't stand still. I'm going to keep trying in all areas of my life, and won't quit until my goals are achieved!

I will be resuming my posts on here as best I can, and now I'm going to dive into my to-read pile that I've been dying to get to!

A Christmas Break

Can you guys believe it's almost Christmas?

I sure can't.

Truthfully, it just doesn't feel like it's nearly Christmas to me right now, and I know there are many reasons for that.

What are my reasons for not feeling the 'Christmas spirit', you ask?

Well most of it, I believe, is stress. Like, seriously, I can't even enjoy my favorite time of the year because I've been so nervous and panicky and UGH.

I'm feeling this way because of many reasons, the biggest one being the deadline to have my messy book clean and edited in fifteen days for a full review of it. Now, this is a really big thing, and it wouldn't be so hard if it wasn't the first in a three book series, so there's all of these things I need to add/take away/rethink because they just didn't end up fitting the rest of the plot that I created months later.

Other reasons I'm stressed out is because I haven't been keeping up with my posts on here, and the same with my own personal Journals that have been sadly abandoned for much to long.

So--after much consideration and many whale-like-moans, I have decided to not finish the edits for my book before the deadline. I REALLY want that review, but if it's causing me to not enjoy my Winter, and stress me out like it is and fry my brain and make me this aggravated with everything in my life, the best choice is to take it away. I will always have next year, so I've finally given myself permission to not let it hold that kind of power over me, and just have a while off, for once.

Also--I've decided to not pressure myself so much with this Blog and my Journals--just until after Christmas, I promise!

I don't think you know how much I love Winter--I spend all year waiting for this one time, and I feel like I'm missing all of it because I've taken on too much and chose to have all of this stress in my life, so I'm doing something I don't normally do, and I'm saying no. I'm getting rid of things that are stressing me out so that I can enjoy my life to the fullest.

I'll post when I can and when I WANT to, and I'll be back on track in January with new and exciting things!

Now, I am finally allowed to do the things I enjoy, instead of telling myself no because I reserved all of my time for editing!

I'm going to finally finish the final book in the Dragon Master Trilogy (and complete the second Kingdom Hearts game on the PS2 because, seriously, why not?)!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Winter full of peace and Christmas spirit, doing things you enjoy and surrounded by people who only make you happy!

Thank you, Viewers!

So--I'm aware I've been completely absent lately, as if I've been wiped off the face of the planet, but I am here to assure you that hasn't happened...

Or has it...?

But, anyway, I've just been busy with about every other thing on my life, and, sadly, Blogging has naturally taken the backseat when it comes to my top priorities.

This is, indeed, a pretty terrible thing, because I really enjoy rambling on here and what-not, but, alas, some things are just more important.

But; I have good news!

I'm planning something really exciting coming up before Christmas, and I will let you know exactly what after details are sorted, but I am incredibly excited for it, so I hope you will be, too!

I also have something else running through my thought processing, but it will take a while for me to sort THAT secret out.

When it comes down to it--I have MANY things planned, so that means MANY things for you to be excited about!

Before I hide away to plot my short Christmas story, I want to talk about YOU for a minute

Yes, YOU!

My wonderful viewers.

Sometimes I wonder why someone would want to read anything I write on here.

I'm just a really strange person who talks way too much, thinks way too much, and writes way too much.

So, the real question here is--why should anyone follow this Blog?

Truth is--I have absolutely no idea.

I'm not able to answer that for you.

I simply consider myself a small person with big things to say, to sum it up.

Ultimately, what I'm trying to say is that I am extremely honored to have you here. Anytime one of you views my Blog, I get so excited, and I can't truly explain why.

Whether I know you in person, Viewer, or I've never met you a day in my life--welcome! And thank you tremendously for visiting!

I have been able to do great things through Defying Impossible, and I hope to continue to for years to come!

Thank you for following Defying Impossible.

*Big group hug*

NaNoWriMo Winner!/Five Things I'm Thankful For

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

"Throws confetti and gravy*

How are you spending your Thanksgiving day? I'm spending it cleaning for when Family comes over for dinner tomorrow.

You may be thinking it's not the BEST way to spend your day, but I'm perfectly happy with it considering I've validated my word-count, and am officially a 2013 NaNoWriMo Winner!

Here's a picture for proof!
Sure, I may have gone a bit over, and the Novel still isn't actually FINISHED, but whatever. Personally I consider it a job well done, and I'm very happy with everything I've written!

I know many people who are almost there, or still struggling, or have barely written anything at all! But I think that most people don't understand what NaNoWriMo is all about.

It's not there for you to write 50k words. It's not there for you to finish your book. NaNoWriMo (Or National Novel Writing Month), is there to set realistic goals to get you to WRITE. That's all. If you've written a single word, one thousand word, or 100,000 words this month, you're already a winner!

And I'm not saying that like one of those cheesy things where "Everyone's a winner!", it's honestly the truth. NaNoWriMo is for, mainly, two different people. It's for the people who write all day everyday of their life, who want a new, more intense challenge, but it's also for those who haven't written for a few months, or haven't written in their entire life, and want to get started.

We're all writing, and numbers are just that--numbers.

So keep writing! The world needs your story!

Five Things I'm Thankful For:

  1. I'm thankful first and foremost for God being in my life, for without him literally none of the other four things I'm about to list would be possible. He's brought me through so many good things, and just as many bad things, but made sure I always learned from them and made me better in the process.
  2. I'm thankful for my family and friends. You might wonder why these two go together, because family is family and friends are friends, but in my eyes you choose who your family is, whether you're actually related or not. Family is the people who are always there for you, and who love you, and I definitively have many people like that. I'm thankful for my siblings, my parents, my boyfriend, my distant relatives, and all of the wonderful people put into my life.
  3. I'm thankful for my words. I'm thankful that words were even created! Without my stories I don't know what I'd do!
  4. I'm thankful that we have heat in our house, and electricity. I'm thankful we have warm blankets and coats and shoes. Pretty much, I'm thankful for the little things.
  5. I'm thankful for many, many more things, and I think that's ANOTHER thing I'm thankful for. I have so many great things in my life that I always try to remember, no matter how small.

What are YOU doing this Thanksgiving? What are you thankful for?

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Writers Retreat

Hey guys!

Sorry--No Writers-Blog answer today!

Me and my Family are literally about to walk out the door to stay the weekend at the Cabin with some friends, as a short vacation!

Sadly, there is no internet connection up there, so, naturally, no Blog posts until Monday, and I'll catch up then.

I'm looking forward to the atmosphere of the Cabin because, honestly, it's just one big writers dream.

There's hammocks and warm fires and beautiful views, so I'm going to be spending all my time at my computer, OBVIOUSLY, because I'm considering this my own Writers Retreat!

I hope you fellow Writers get many words done as well!

Happy Writing!

Updates!

Hello All!

Just wanted to give a quick update:

First off, I promise I'm not planning on being this lame forever. I haven't had time to plan a new Blog Post or you guys yet because I've been busy preparing to go out of town this Monday, which leads me to my SECOND update...:

I'm heading back to Saint Louise (Considering I was just there last week to meet the wonderful Rick Riordan.), to THIS time meet...

Wait for it...

SHANNON MESSENGER!

*Confetti explosions... DYNAMITE Song Blaring Through the Ground... Million Person Dance Party*

I KNOW right???

So I am BEYOND excited.

Shannon Messenger is one of those Authors, to me, that is not in the same league as the others. There IS no competition. She has written some of the best stuff I have ever read, AND she is a super awesome person, so I cannot WAIT to meet her.

She is the Author of Keeper of the Lost Cities, including Book Two, as well as Let the Sky Fall.

Her stories make me SQUEE so hard, and I just. I can't.

I'm just afraid I'm going to do something embarrassing when I see her, like pass out, or burst into tears, or giggle like an idiot. I've already warned my family, who will be coming with me, that I cannot be held responsible for any fainting or exploding that may take place.

So, that's MY plan for this week--What's yours?

ANOTHER thing on my TO-DO list;

I am trying to work on a Halloween story, set in my already made world, as a side story or such. I've done this last year with my Atrea gang, but this year I thought it be cool with my other friends, those from the Dragon Master Trilogy.

I'm still working out the annoying details, such as when in between the books it actually TAKES PLACE, but so far I've come up short with a place I can squeeze it in. So this is all still up in the air, even though I'm DYING to write it, annoying details aside.

But ANOTHER option is to just write a short Halloween story, that is unrelated to any of my current Novels.

I have much to contemplate.

Anyway, I'll be back soon after Monday with, I'm sure, pictures and I CAN'T.'S about my event with Shannon Messenger, then I will be starting the Blog Challenge that I introduced HERE.

SUPER excited for tons of reasons. I have MANY new things planned for Defying Impossible, and they will all be known to you sooner or later, but most certainly sometime after Monday.

Now I must go Explode while trying to focus on my Halloween story.

Even though I probably can't.

Because. I just.

SO EXCITED.

Let's Get This Party Started

Hello All!

So this would technically be one of my first posts on Defying Impossible's Blog, considering some of the others are taken from my Facebook page, AKA the original Defying Impossible home, so.

Yes, 'Bloggingness' is a word now.

Thanks for reading and I hope you check back soon!

Hello Blog-World!

Hello!

This is a little place to learn 'All-About-Me', whether you're COMPLETELY INTERESTED or just vaguely curious.

I'm currently fourteen, but I believe age is just a number and the real age is in the Soul. Yeah, deep, I know.
I have already had a successful 'Blog' over on Facebook that you can find HERE.

I've already written a ton of stuff over there, but after a while I just got really tired of the 'Facebook layout'.
It was incredibly hard to put together good posts and so I decided to finally make a real Blog!

*Confetti attack*

I hopefully won't be leaving my Facebook page, but instead add it to my list of Defying Impossible that is ATTACKING THE INTERNETZ.

Ehm, anyway.

I'll explain some about my writing, yes?

I've been writing since I was eight, and haven't taken a break ever since.

What got my started in writing wasn't 'the first book I read', but was instead my drawing. I would draw characters--Mostly animals and such-- and then I would put a story to them. I remember one of my favorites was A Cow Walking on the Sand. They were cartoons, almost. One day I may dig them out from my hiding place and look at them again, but I am content with leaving them buried, to be honest.

Practically, my mission in life is to Inspire other authors, and even other people, through my words and my stories, the way other books and authors have inspired me.

I have a five book series titled Atrea, and also another five book series set in the same world.

Recently, I've finished the first two books in my Dragon Master Trilogy, and I will be wrapping up the last one this November for NaNoWriMo. I'm VERY excited about that.

Now, I could go on all day about my stories. They excite me, they keep me entertained, and, well, they are my life.

That MAY sound a bit ridiculous, like I'm some crazy cat lady who sits at her computer talking to her voices all day, and thought that is MOSTLY true, I have plenty of other things I find interest in.

I draw a whole bunch, and spend hours at a time organizing my room and reading more books than I can count.

I have many wonderful notebooks that never leave my side, and a favorite pencil I can't live without.

I live and breath stories, whether it comes out of a TV show (Such as Doctor Who, Supernatural, Merlin, Psych, Ect.), a Video Game (Such as Zelda, Pokemon, The Legendary Starfy, Ect.) or making them up as I walk along a street or stare out a window.

You can pretty much find me ANYWHERE on the internet, so make sure to check out the 'Where You Can Find Me' section down to the right on my Website!

I hope to be published one day, but who doesn't?

I have MANY authors that have books that inspire me, such as:

Shannon Messenger,

Rick Riordan,

Leigh Bardugo,

Marissa Meyer,

James Riley,

Cassandra Clare,

Soman Chainani,

Jessica Brody,

Marissa Burt,

Lisa McMann,

and many, many more!

I eat a lot, my characters are my best friend, and most importantly of all:

I look forward to starting this new part of my adventure, and sharing it with YOU!

So Hello to all of my returning fans and another Hello to all of the new ones! I look forwards to meeting you and sharing my experiences and crazy ramblings with you!

Now I'll be uploading some of my more 'put together' posts just to get caught up with all the time I've had my OTHER Blog open, so hang tight and thanks for reading!
